CAR SHOOT IDEAS VOL. 2

Previously, we’ve brought you ways around the island for a photo opportunity. Once again, we want to show off your machines in contrast to the gargantuan skyscrapers we talked about. We’re heading into the heart of the city. You might want to doll up a little for this to show that you mean business.

Location 1: Marina South Pier

This road that leads to a dock is usually known for their ferries that bring us across the Singapore Straits. We’re here for a different agenda, so forget your passports, pack your cameras instead.

At the foot of Singapore’s Central Business District (CBD), the cosmopolitan details here can be daunting. But with clarity, you’ll be able to capture the grandeur of Shenton Way. Even the birds stand in awe of this showcase.

In the city, the stars might be absent. Instead, what you see is this.

Urban lights juxtaposes what you would see in the night, dazzling us as they stand erected against the skies. The vehicle is the star here, presented with the attention of a celebrity.

Considerations:

  • There may be many like minded people who would enjoy this view.

  • The entire road is lined with trees, there’s only one spot with an unobstructed view of CBD

  • Finding this place may be a challenge, but we've got you

  • A hot picnic spot, so you will need a little luck for the photo opportunity

Getting there:

Near 31 Marina Coastal Dr, Singapore 018988

Exact location of where we got the shot was in between lamp post 58F and a LED sign board.

Location 2: Marina Bay Cruise Centre

Once again, no, we’re not here for a cruise to nowhere, we have a picturesque destination in mind. For the best outcome, come here when it’s dark.

If you’d want your car to glow up, we think this does the trick. When it’s dark, the luminance of both the track and your car work in unison, providing a soft glow for your vehicle.

By the way, there are little lighting edits here, the purplish glow comes with the locale as you tap your brakes. See for yourself.

Let's also not forget about our skyscrapers.

No. This is not a car ad, but it sure gives the illusion of new shipment. Now this Civic is ready to take on the streets.

Considerations:

  • This slope is a one way, be considerate not to block others

  • Beware of cars coming out of the car park

  • Have a driver in the car on standby

  • At any time of the day, there is no much people here

Getting there:

61 Marina Coastal Dr, Singapore 018947

Location 3: Thian Hock Keng Temple

In Chinese culture, Feng Shui influences many aspects of our lives. Even for cars, they too want a piece of that fortune smiling on them. Listen to them, you’ll never know when Feng Shui will come in handy for you.

Prostrate your car before the deities, you might just receive divine fortune. Captured in all its holiness, your 4 digits may just strike first prize.

The sister models need blessings too.

Be quaint but remain solemn, for you are at a place of worship. Blessings will befall on you, as you capture this hauntingly beautiful sight.

Considerations:

  • Many vehicles need that good Feng Shui, be patient when you’re there

  • Best to go after midnight, for lesser traffic

  • Posing here takes up an entire lane, don't be a roadblock, and don't stall those engines

Getting there:

158 Telok Ayer St, Singapore 068613

Location 4: Benjamin Sheares Bridge | Nicoll Highway

After the last issue of rolling shoots, we have more challenges in stall for you. This will bring it up a notch. We’re talking about a group rolling shot while boasting the best views the city has to offer. For the boys, let’s march down memory lane once again, this time with wheels.

Left.

Right.

Left or right, it doesn't matter. Both boasts an attraction. The goal here is simple: if you believe your machines are worth showing off, then show them off. Vandalise the skyline of Singapore at any angle you deem fit.

Don’t blink now, but check your rear.

Yes, any angle. if you are bold enough.

If you need help with rolling shots, we’ll be more than happy to help out! Contact us via thevisualcatalogue@gmail.com or www.instagram.com/shutterspeedplus/ for enquiries.

Considerations:

  • Traffic will come when you least expect it, check your quarters

  • After midnight for the least traffic density

  • Though not illegal, traffic police might still be doing their jobs

  • If the shot isn’t perfect, you will need to go an entire round for the next opportunity

Getting there:

You can use the entire track from Marina Boulevard to Nicoll Highway. However the best views are right when you climb up Benjamin Sheares Bridge where the unobstructed views of Marina Bay are placed in the backdrop.

With our cars parked, we have yet another collection that had been added into our galleries. Tag us on Instagram (@thevisualcatalogue.sg) as you show them off, make your vehicles the envy among your peers.
